Iseme Unveils SHARES Manifesto, Proposes Afemai Trust Fund For Edo North

Mrs. Iseme Maria Oisamoje, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Edo North, has unveiled her proposed SHARES Manifesto, outlining her development agenda for the 64 wards of Afemai Nation, alongside a proposal to establish an Afemai Trust Fund.

The manifesto, according to the candidate, is designed to address critical development needs across Edo North through improved security, healthcare delivery, agricultural development, road maintenance, education and social welfare.

SHARES, an acronym for Security, Healthcare, Agriculture, Road Maintenance, Education and Social Responsibility, forms the foundation of Oisamoje's proposed legislative and development agenda.

Under the security component, she proposes the use of technology to strengthen security and improve the protection of lives and property across communities in the senatorial district.

Her healthcare agenda focuses on mobile hospitals and telemedicine to improve access to medical services, particularly for residents of rural and underserved communities.

In agriculture, the candidate proposes mechanisation and extension services to support farmers, improve productivity and strengthen agricultural activities across Afemai Nation.

On infrastructure, her agenda emphasises road maintenance as a means of improving connectivity between communities and facilitating economic and commercial activities.

The education component prioritises technical skills development, with the objective of equipping young people with practical knowledge and competencies to improve their employment and entrepreneurial prospects.

Through the social responsibility pillar, Oisamoje proposes empowerment initiatives targeting women, youths and elderly citizens, with a focus on improving livelihoods and promoting inclusive development.

A key feature of her proposed agenda is the establishment of an Afemai Trust Fund, which she presents as part of her broader vision for advancing development across the area. Details of the proposed fund's financing structure, administration and implementation framework were not provided in the campaign statement.

Oisamoje holds a Second Class Upper degree in Education Chemistry from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She is also a former Senatorial Woman Leader and a businesswoman with experience in the oil and gas, telecommunications, haulage and agricultural sectors.

Her campaign has called on the people of Afemai Nation to assess her academic qualifications, professional experience and proposed development agenda as they consider their choice for representation in the Senate.

With the SHARES Manifesto and the proposed Afemai Trust Fund at the centre of her campaign message, Oisamoje is presenting her candidacy as an opportunity to pursue a development-focused agenda for Edo North under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
