BIBI Celebrates Teachers, Hails Their Role In Nation Building
Hon. Sunny Aguebor, popularly known as BIBI, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Edo South Senatorial District, has felicitated with teachers across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.
Aguebor, in a goodwill message marking the annual celebration, described teachers as indispensable pillars of education, human capital development and nation-building.
He commended teachers for their dedication, patience and sacrifices in shaping the lives of children and young people, noting that the quality of any society is closely connected to the quality of education available to its citizens.
According to him, teachers do far more than impart academic knowledge, as they also help to build character, discipline, critical thinking and the values required for responsible citizenship.
Aguebor acknowledged the challenges confronting teachers in the discharge of their duties and called for greater attention to their welfare, professional development and working conditions.
He stressed the need for governments at all levels to invest more in the education sector and create an environment where teachers can perform their responsibilities effectively.
The NDC candidate also called for continuous training and capacity development for teachers, saying education must evolve with changing technology and the demands of the modern economy.
He particularly saluted teachers across Edo State and Edo South for their contributions to the development of young people and communities, assuring them that their efforts remain vital to the future of the state and the country.
Aguebor urged Nigerians to appreciate and respect teachers, describing them as nation builders whose influence often extends far beyond the classroom.
He wished teachers across Nigeria a happy and rewarding World Teachers’ Day celebration, while praying for greater recognition, improved welfare and renewed motivation for the profession.
“Happy World Teachers’ Day to our teachers. Your sacrifices, dedication and commitment to shaping future generations will never be forgotten. We celebrate you today and always,” Aguebor said.
