Okojie’s Representation: From Legislative Mandate To Constituency Impact

The member representing Esan North East/Esan South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Prince Henry Odianosen Okojie, has continued to position his representation around constituency development, empowerment and effective legislative engagement.

Since emerging as the representative of the constituency in the 10th National Assembly, Okojie has remained focused on using his mandate to advance the interests of the people of Esan North East and Esan South East.

His approach to representation has placed emphasis on responsiveness to constituents, interventions aimed at improving opportunities for the people and participation in legislative affairs capable of contributing to development within the constituency.

Okojie’s political standing received a further boost in May 2026 when he secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to seek re-election to the House of Representatives in 2027. Reports by Punch and The Nation said the lawmaker emerged unopposed at the party’s primary for the Esan North East/Esan South East Federal Constituency.

His bid for another term now places his record in representation before the electorate, with issues of continuity, accountability and further development expected to remain central to the political conversation ahead of the 2027 elections.

For supporters of the lawmaker, the argument for continuity is anchored on his experience in the National Assembly and what they describe as his commitment to constituency representation.

The constituency, which comprises Esan North East and Esan South East Local Government Areas of Edo State, has significant agricultural, commercial and human-resource potential, making effective representation important to the advancement of its communities.

As the 2027 political season gathers momentum, Okojie is seeking a renewed mandate to consolidate his legislative experience, strengthen constituency interventions, expand opportunities for his constituents and pursue greater development impact.

The expectation is that the coming period will provide an opportunity for constituents to assess his performance, weigh his contributions against their expectations and decide whether his current representation deserves another term.

For Okojie and his supporters, however, the message is clear: representation should go beyond occupying a legislative seat; it should translate into visible impact, meaningful opportunities and sustained service to the people.
