Felix Campaign Demands Scorecard, Not Promises In Akoko-Edo Constituency 2

The campaign organisation of Dr. Austine Oyarekwa Felix has called on the people of Akoko-Edo Constituency 2 to demand accountability and a clear performance scorecard from the incumbent representative ahead of the 2027 election.

In a statement issued by the Media Team of the DAOF Campaign Organisation, the group argued that after three and a half years in office, the incumbent should be judged primarily by tangible achievements and visible impact rather than fresh campaign promises.

According to the campaign, the people of Akoko-Edo Constituency 2 invested their trust, confidence and votes in their representative and now have the right to ask what tangible returns they have received.

“Leadership is not measured by how many times a politician asks for your vote. It is measured by what he has delivered after receiving it,” the statement said.

The campaign also challenged the incumbent to show evidence of completed projects and other meaningful interventions, stressing that unfinished projects alone, without corresponding human capital development and measurable impact on the people, should not be presented as a sufficient scorecard.

The organisation maintained that the forthcoming election should focus on accountability, performance and the future of the constituency rather than sentiment or unfulfilled promises.

Making a case for Dr. Austine Oyarekwa Felix, the campaign described him as a candidate with professional experience, intellectual capacity, leadership maturity and grassroots understanding needed to provide effective representation.

It said Felix’s proposed approach would focus on responsive representation, purposeful legislation, constituency development, empowerment, advocacy and accountability, anchored on what it described as a social contract with the people of Akoko-Edo Constituency 2.

The campaign stressed that representation should extend beyond election periods, arguing that elected representatives must remain accessible and committed to their constituents throughout their tenure.

“We cannot continue to reward political promises while ignoring performance,” the statement added.

The campaign urged voters to examine the incumbent’s record and determine whether existing projects and interventions have produced meaningful changes in the lives of constituents.

It said the choice before the electorate was between “representation by promises” and “representation by results,” urging voters to prioritise competence, vision, accountability and service.

The DAOF Campaign Organisation concluded by calling on the people of Akoko-Edo Constituency 2 to demand a clear scorecard and consider Dr. Austine Oyarekwa Felix for a “stronger, more effective and people-centred” representation.

“Let the record speak. Let the people decide,” the campaign stated.
