Ovia Youth Summit 2026: Growing Ovia Network Unveils 7-Day Virtual Youth Empowerment Summit
The Growing Ovia Network (G.O.N) has announced the maiden edition of the Ovia Youth Summit 2026 — “The Foundation,” a seven-day virtual programme designed to inspire, equip and empower young people to take ownership of their future and contribute meaningfully to community development.
The summit, which is being organised in commemoration of International Youth Day 2026, is scheduled to hold from August 28 to September 4, 2026, with daily sessions beginning at 8:00 p.m. West Africa Time (WAT) via Google Meet.
The initiative is coming at a time when youth empowerment, skills development, meaningful participation and access to opportunities remain critical to sustainable development.
The United Nations, in marking International Youth Day 2026 on August 12, adopted the global theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” highlighting the shared aspirations of young people around the world for dignity, opportunity, meaningful participation, quality education, decent work and a sustainable future. The UN also emphasised the importance of equipping young people with future-ready skills, including digital literacy, critical thinking, problem-solving, empathy and resilience.
Against this background, the organisers said the Ovia Youth Summit 2026 is conceived around the belief that young people need the right foundation to transform their dreams and talents into sustainable impact.
According to the organisers, “The Foundation” reflects the need for young people to develop the mindset, knowledge, skills, relationships and values required to build successful lives and contribute positively to their communities.
The seven-day virtual summit is expected to bring together young dreamers, entrepreneurs, professionals, aspiring leaders and other purpose-driven youths for learning, networking and mentorship.
Key Areas of the Summit
The organisers said participants will have access to keynote presentations and sessions covering critical areas including health, finance, business and leadership, among others.
The programme will also feature:
- Networking opportunities;
- Mentorship sessions;
- Certificate of participation;
- Scholarship opportunities; and
- Other youth-focused empowerment initiatives.
The summit is expected to provide participants with opportunities to learn from experienced mentors and industry professionals, develop productive mindsets, build meaningful networks and gain insights that can help them navigate their personal, professional and entrepreneurial journeys.
The organisers believe that young people should not merely be seen as leaders of tomorrow, but as important contributors to development today. This position is also consistent with the UN's emphasis on young people as organisers, innovators and partners in sustainable development.
The summit is therefore designed to encourage participants to move beyond wishful thinking and begin taking deliberate steps towards building sustainable careers, businesses, leadership capacity and community impact.
Free Participation, Registration Required
Participation in the Ovia Youth Summit 2026 is free, although registration is compulsory.

The organisers have also invited individuals, organisations and potential partners interested in supporting youth development to participate or explore sponsorship opportunities.
The summit is being powered by Growing Ovia Network (G.O.N), an initiative focused on fostering impactful community development.
The organisers have urged young people across Ovia and beyond to take advantage of the opportunity, describing the summit as more than just a conference but a potential launchpad for personal growth, leadership development and meaningful impact.
