Adams Haruna Ekene Empowers Another 70 Women In Igabi, Reaffirms Commitment To Grassroots Development

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, Hon. Adams Haruna Ekene, has empowered another set of 70 women across selected wards in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State as part of his continued grassroots intervention and women empowerment initiative.

The latest beneficiaries were drawn from communities and wards including Hayi Dan Mani, Rigasa and Hayi Malam Bello, among others, with the initiative aimed at supporting women in their businesses and strengthening their capacity to contribute to the economic wellbeing of their families and communities.
The empowerment programme was witnessed by the Igabi Local Government NDC Chairman, alongside party leaders, grassroots stakeholders and members of the communities.

The latest intervention comes barely one week after Hon. Adams Haruna Ekene empowered 150 women in Rigasa, Igabi Local Government Area, with financial grants to support their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
During the earlier empowerment programme, Adams explained that his intervention was driven by his commitment to supporting women and other members of the community, particularly those working to achieve economic independence through small-scale businesses and entrepreneurship.

The previous programme attracted women from different communities within Rigasa, with beneficiaries receiving financial assistance intended to strengthen their businesses and increase household income. Community and women leaders also urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the support by investing in ventures capable of improving their livelihoods.

With the latest 70 beneficiaries, the intervention brings the number of women publicly reported as benefiting from the recent empowerment drive in Igabi to 220, further highlighting the senatorial candidate's emphasis on grassroots engagement and women's economic empowerment.

The initiative is also being viewed by supporters as part of Adams Haruna Ekene's broader campaign philosophy of accessible representation, grassroots development and direct engagement with constituents ahead of the 2027 general election.

A grassroots mobilizer and entrepreneur, Hon. Adams Haruna Ekene has continued to strengthen his political structure across Kaduna Central Senatorial District, with particular attention to the seven local government areas that make up the district.

The latest empowerment exercise is expected to further deepen his engagement with women and grassroots communities in Igabi as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
The NDC candidate has consistently called for greater participation of women and other grassroots stakeholders in the political and development process, maintaining that inclusive representation must translate into practical opportunities that improve the lives of ordinary citizens.

The empowerment programme therefore represents another step in his ongoing efforts to build stronger relationships with communities across Kaduna Central while promoting economic self-reliance among women.
