JUAofAfrica Calls For Purposeful Leadership, Says 2027 Must Be About Competence, Character and Service

The Delta State House of Assembly candidate for Aniocha South Constituency under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Jeffrey Ugochukwu Adigwe, popularly known as JUAofAfrica, has called for purposeful, accountable and people-centred leadership as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.

Adigwe said the future of Aniocha South and its communities depends largely on the quality of decisions made by the people, urging residents to look beyond political slogans and carefully consider the character, competence, vision and commitment to service of those seeking their mandate.

According to him, the people deserve representatives who are accessible, compassionate and willing to listen, engage with communities and pursue practical solutions to challenges affecting their daily lives.

He said effective leadership must go beyond occupying public office, stressing that elected representatives should be prepared to create opportunities, empower young people, support families and businesses, strengthen local economies and champion sustainable development.

Adigwe also emphasised the importance of accountability and transparency in governance, saying public office should be regarded as a responsibility entrusted to leaders by the people rather than an avenue for personal enrichment or recognition.

The NDC candidate said his vision for Aniocha South is centred on improving infrastructure, expanding opportunities for youths and women, strengthening education and healthcare, supporting agriculture and entrepreneurship, and ensuring that development receives attention across communities.

He further called for stronger collaboration among traditional institutions, community leaders, youths, women, farmers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders, noting that sustainable development cannot be achieved without the active participation of the people.

A New Approach to Representation

Adigwe described the 2027 election as more than a contest for political offices, saying it presents an opportunity for citizens to demand a higher standard of leadership and redefine what effective representation should mean.

He urged political supporters to remain peaceful and respectful while presenting their candidates' ideas and programmes to the electorate.

"This is more than a campaign. It is a call to rebuild trust, restore hope and redefine what true representation should look like," he said.

Adigwe also encouraged residents to approach the political process with wisdom, unity and a strong sense of responsibility, stressing that the ultimate objective should be the development and wellbeing of the people.

Beginning his message with prayers for divine guidance, protection, favour and opportunities, the House of Assembly candidate expressed optimism about the future, urging residents not to lose hope in the possibility of positive change.

He maintained that with competent leadership, accountable governance, unity and collective determination, Aniocha South can unlock its potential and create a better future for present and future generations.

Adigwe therefore called on residents to support leaders who demonstrate genuine concern for the people and are prepared to make service, integrity and development the foundation of their leadership.

“2027 is not just another election; it is a defining moment for our future. Let us rise together. Let us choose competence. Let us choose compassion. Let us choose accountable leadership,” he stated.

The NDC candidate reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Aniocha South, saying his aspiration remains focused on service to the people and building a stronger, more prosperous and united constituency.
