NDC National Youth Coordinator Meets OK Movement DG, Pushes Wider Youth Mobilization For 2027
The National Youth Wing Coordinator of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Ajodo Onuh, has met with the National Director-General of the OK Movement, High Chief Peter Ojonugwa Ameh, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen youth mobilisation and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, which took place on Sunday, focused on strategies to mobilise more young people to join the NDC and actively participate in the party's activities as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
According to Onuh, the engagement with High Chief Ameh provided an opportunity to discuss practical ways of expanding the NDC's youth base and strengthening grassroots structures capable of reaching young people across communities.
He said the mobilisation of young people would remain a major priority ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing the importance of encouraging youths to take an active role in the political process and contribute to the success of the party.
The NDC National Youth Wing Coordinator said the discussions also centred on strategies to deliver the party's presidential candidate and other NDC candidates in the 2027 elections.
He explained that achieving electoral success would require sustained grassroots mobilisation, effective coordination and stronger engagement with young people, who constitute an important segment of the electorate.
A significant part of the meeting was also devoted to the senatorial ambition of High Chief Peter Ojonugwa Ameh, who is contesting for the Kogi East Senatorial District seat in the 2027 elections.
Ajodo Onuh said they discussed strategies for mobilising support and building the necessary grassroots momentum to deliver Ameh in the Kogi East Senatorial District, while simultaneously working towards the success of the NDC's presidential candidate and other candidates contesting on the party's platform.
He noted that the various political interests discussed during the meeting could be advanced through stronger collaboration, wider youth participation and effective grassroots organisation.
Ajodo Onuh further stressed the need for young people to move beyond passive political participation and become actively involved in mobilising their peers and communities ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, the NDC Youth Wing would continue to engage with youth groups, political movements and other stakeholders in its efforts to expand the party's reach and strengthen its support base across the country.
The meeting with High Chief Ameh, he said, was also an opportunity to exchange ideas on how to deepen political mobilisation and establish a coordinated approach towards achieving the desired electoral outcomes in 2027.
Ajodo Onuh expressed optimism about the prospects of stronger collaboration among the various stakeholders, noting that effective mobilisation and grassroots engagement would be critical to the success of the NDC's candidates.
He reaffirmed his commitment to working with young people and other stakeholders to build a stronger and more effective youth mobilisation structure capable of contributing meaningfully to the party's campaign and electoral activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting underscores the growing emphasis on youth mobilisation, grassroots organisation and strategic collaboration as political actors and support groups intensify preparations for the 2027 elections.
