Aiguobarueghian Meets Obidient Movement In London, Charts Progressive Path For Ovia And Nigeria
The Member representing Ovia North East Constituency 1 in the Edo State House of Assembly and National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Ovia Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian (Esq.), has held a strategic consultative meeting with members of the Obidient Movement in London.
The engagement brought together Nigerians in the diaspora committed to promoting accountable leadership, democratic participation and national development.
Among those who participated in the meeting were political mobiliser Isaac Fayose and human rights activist Dr. Moses Paul.
The discussions focused on strengthening the structures of the Obidient Movement, deepening civic engagement at home and abroad, and mobilising Nigerians in the diaspora to play a more coordinated role in Nigeria's political and developmental process.
Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Aiguobarueghian emphasised the need for effective representation that translates into tangible benefits for the people of Ovia Federal Constituency.
The lawmaker highlighted his legislative experience in the Edo State House of Assembly, stressing his commitment to key areas including education, youth empowerment, healthcare and rural infrastructure.
According to him, these areas remain critical to delivering meaningful and people-centred representation.
“The energy of the Obidients must now move from social media to structures that deliver. Ovia Federal Constituency is ready, and Nigeria is waiting for leaders who are ready for service that will culminate into tangible results.”
He also stressed the importance of transparency, electoral integrity, accountability, competence and character in building a better Nigeria.
In his remarks, Isaac Fayose commended Hon. Aiguobarueghian for what he described as his consistency and people-first approach to representation, describing him as one of the young leaders Nigeria needs at the federal level.
Similarly, Dr. Moses Paul called on Nigerians in the diaspora to support credible leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections. He also applauded the Ovia-born lawmaker for what he described as his steadfast commitment to the interests of the people.
Hon. Aiguobarueghian said the meeting reaffirmed that geographical distance should not prevent Nigerians abroad from contributing meaningfully to the country's political and developmental process.
He noted that the recommendations and commitments reached during the London engagement would be documented and translated into concrete actions in the coming weeks.
The meeting ended with a commitment to build stronger bridges between Nigerians in the diaspora and constituents at home, while supporting initiatives capable of improving the lives of residents of Ovia Federal Constituency.
The NDC candidate reaffirmed his commitment to working with stakeholders to promote purposeful representation, accountable leadership and people-centred governance in Ovia, Edo State and Nigeria.
“The work continues. Every voice matters. Together, a new Nigeria is possible,” he said.
