Adams Haruna, Kaduna NDC Aspirants Meet Kwankwaso In Abuja, Move To Strengthen Party Unity Ahead Of 2027
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Hon. Adams Haruna Ekene, has joined the party's Kaduna State governorship candidate, Senator Abass, and other NDC aspirants from Kaduna and Zaria for a strategic meeting with the party's Vice-Presidential Candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, at his residence in Abuja.
The closed-door meeting, held on Friday, August 14, brought together NDC candidates and party executives from across Kaduna State to deliberate on strategies for strengthening the party's structures and ensuring a successful outing in the 2027 general election.
The engagement came at a crucial period as the NDC intensifies its preparations for the 2027 polls, with stakeholders focusing on grassroots mobilisation, internal cohesion, candidate coordination, and the expansion of the party's electoral base across Kaduna State.
A significant aspect of the meeting was the need to resolve disagreements and differences among some members of the Kaduna NDC family. The stakeholders used the opportunity to address the issues and emphasise the importance of unity, discipline, mutual understanding, and collective commitment ahead of the election.
The intervention is expected to further consolidate the party's structures across the state and strengthen cooperation among aspirants, party executives, local government structures, ward leaders, and grassroots supporters.
Hon. Adams Haruna Ekene, who is the NDC's candidate for Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has in recent weeks continued to engage party structures across the seven local government areas of the senatorial district.
At a stakeholders' meeting held in Kaduna on July 28, the seven local government structures were represented, with party leaders from Chikun, Kajuru, Igabi, Giwa, Kaduna North, Kaduna South, and Birnin Gwari participating. The meeting also culminated in the inauguration of Comrade Gideon Jatau as Director-General of the Adams Haruna Ekene Senatorial Campaign Organisation.
The July engagement also underscored the importance of strengthening the party's grassroots structures, with NDC leaders calling for greater coordination between the senatorial candidate and local government and ward-level party officials.
The latest Abuja meeting therefore represents a further step toward consolidating the Kaduna NDC family and creating a united political structure capable of mounting a formidable campaign across the state.
Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former Governor of Kano State and former Minister of Defence, is currently the NDC's Vice-Presidential Candidate for the 2027 election.
The participants reportedly reaffirmed their commitment to the success of the NDC in Kaduna State and the country at large, while stressing the need for all aspirants and party members to work together in the collective interest of the party.
For Hon. Adams Haruna Ekene, the meeting further reinforces his campaign's emphasis on unity, grassroots engagement, inclusive representation, and strategic coalition-building as the countdown to the 2027 general election continues.
The Kaduna NDC stakeholders are expected to sustain consultations and mobilisation across the state as the party works toward presenting a united front and securing victory at the polls.
