Diri’s Free Medical Outreach Restoring Hope To Bayelsans — Health Commissioner
The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Seiyefa Brisibe, has described the ongoing Senator Douye Diri Free Medical Outreach as a major humanitarian initiative aimed at restoring hope and improving access to healthcare for residents across the state.
Prof. Brisibe stated that the outreach programme is not just an ordinary medical exercise, but a people-centered intervention carefully designed to reach the poor, vulnerable, elderly, and residents of remote riverine communities who often struggle to access quality healthcare services.
According to him, thousands of Bayelsans have continued to benefit from the initiative through free medical consultations, free drugs and treatment, free surgeries, eye care services, as well as health education and awareness campaigns.
The Commissioner noted that the outreach reflects the commitment of Governor Douye Diri, popularly known as the “Transformational Bishop of Prosperity,” towards building a healthier and more productive Bayelsa State.
He emphasized that the programme is helping to bridge healthcare gaps in underserved communities while positively impacting the lives of many families across the state.
Prof. Brisibe further commended the Governor’s vision in prioritizing the health and wellbeing of the people, stressing that accessible healthcare remains essential to sustainable development.
Residents and beneficiaries of the outreach have also expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a life-changing intervention that has brought quality medical care closer to the grassroots.
