APC Hails Uzodimma’s Landslide Victory in Imo West Senatorial Primary

The All Progressives Congress in Imo State has described Governor Hope Uzodimma’s overwhelming victory in the recently concluded Imo West Senatorial Primary Election as a reward for what it termed his outstanding leadership and service to the people.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, the party expressed appreciation to members of the APC across Imo West Senatorial District for what it called a strong demonstration of solidarity and confidence in the governor.

According to the statement, the results of the primary election, as announced and confirmed by the Chairman of the National Assembly Primary Election Committee, Rear Admiral Williams Kayode (Rtd), showed that Governor Uzodimma secured more than 230,000 votes, while his closest rival, the immediate past senator representing the district, polled about 1,000 votes.

The party stated that the outcome reflected the overwhelming support, gratitude, and confidence reposed in the governor by party members across the twelve local government areas of the district, citing his performance over the years as both a legislator and executive leader.

The APC further noted that party members in the district were satisfied with Uzodimma’s leadership trajectory and desired his continued representation of the zone at the Senate.

The statement added that the party was particularly excited about the governor’s return to the Senate, expressing confidence that his legislative experience and political influence would strengthen the party and contribute to the advancement of the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

The statement was signed by Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, PhD, State Publicity Secretary of the APC in Imo State, and dated May 19, 2026.
