OSR Charges ADC Faithful To Strengthen Grassroots Structures Ahead Of 2027 Elections
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has intensified efforts to strengthen its grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections, following a strategic summit involving women and youth leaders from Oredo, Egor and Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Areas of Edo State.
The summit, convened by the Edo State ADC Woman Leader in collaboration with the party’s South-South Senatorial Leader, attracted party members and stakeholders from the three local government areas to deliberate on strategies for consolidating the party’s grassroots presence and improving mobilisation ahead of the elections.
Speaking at the gathering, the ADC candidate for Oredo Federal Constituency, Hon. Osazee Richard, popularly known as OSR, commended the party leadership for organising the meeting, describing it as a timely initiative towards building a stronger and more coordinated political structure.
He emphasised that the success of any political party depended largely on the strength of its grassroots network, urging members to move beyond meetings and translate their resolutions into practical action within their respective wards and units.
According to him, the establishment of grassroots structures must be matched with commitment, active participation and effective coordination to achieve the desired results ahead of the 2027 elections.
“The strength of any political party lies in its grassroots structure. What we have done today is to plant the seeds of victory. It is now the responsibility of every member to water these seeds through active participation and commitment,” OSR said.
He further encouraged women and young people to recognise their importance in the party’s political development, stressing that their participation would be vital to building a formidable organisation capable of connecting with voters and addressing the concerns of the people.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for party stakeholders across Oredo, Egor and Ikpoba-Okha to reinforce their commitment to grassroots mobilisation, strengthen internal coordination and work towards a common political objective.
As the 2027 general elections approach, the ADC's focus on ward-level organisation and the involvement of women and youth leaders underscores the importance of grassroots engagement in building political support.
The summit ended with a renewed commitment among participants to activate the structures established and sustain mobilisation efforts across the three local government areas in preparation for the forthcoming elections.
