Oredo Rep Candidate OSR Unveils Legislative Agenda On Power, Education, Healthcare
The 2027 Oredo Federal Constituency candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), OSR, has unveiled a three-point legislative agenda focused on accountability, public-sector reform and improved access to essential services.
Speaking as part of his campaign message, OSR said his legislative priorities would centre on ensuring that elected and appointed public officials directly experience the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians.
Under his proposed agenda, the candidate pledged to sponsor a bill seeking to restrict elected and appointed public officials from relying on solar power and generators, arguing that such a measure would compel public office holders to prioritise efforts to achieve reliable electricity supply across the country.
OSR also proposed legislation that would require children and wards of elected and appointed government officials to attend public schools.
According to him, the policy would apply from the President to elected and appointed officials at the lowest levels of government. He added that he would lead by example by enrolling his own children in a public school in Edo State.
On healthcare, the ADC candidate pledged to sponsor legislation aimed at ending medical tourism among elected and appointed government officials and their families.
He argued that requiring public officials to use healthcare facilities within Nigeria would create greater urgency for the improvement of the country’s healthcare system.
Presenting the proposals under the theme, “Vote Competence, Integrity and Accountability,” OSR said public office should be regarded as a position of service rather than personal privilege.
“The office is just a position, while the people are what matters,” he said.
OSR is seeking election to represent Oredo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
