Merogun Hosts Wife Of NDC Delta South Senatorial Candidate, Pledges Support For 2027 Victory

Dr. Michael Merogun, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Warri South Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly, has hosted Chief Mrs. Rita Adowei Freedom Binaebi, wife of the party’s Delta South Senatorial candidate, Chief Adowei Freedom Binaebi, at his private residence in Warri.

The meeting, which brought together members of Team Anita Adowei Freedom Binaebi and Dr. Merogun’s political associates, focused on strengthening party unity, building strategic alliances and mobilising support for NDC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Leading the delegation, Chief Mrs. Rita Adowei Freedom Binaebi solicited Dr. Merogun’s support, alongside that of his political structure in Warri South Constituency I, for her husband’s senatorial ambition and other candidates of the party.

In her remarks, she expressed appreciation to Dr. Merogun for the warm reception, describing him as a true son of Warri and an intelligent young leader who understands the political and social dynamics of Warri South without tribal prejudice.
She appealed to the assembly hopeful and his supporters to rally behind her husband, whom she described as a father to all, a bridge-builder and a leader committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Delta South if elected to the Senate.

Chief Mrs. Binaebi also called on party members and supporters to support all NDC candidates across the various elective positions, stressing that unity and collective commitment would be critical to the party’s success in the 2027 elections.
Responding, Dr. Merogun thanked Chief Mrs. Binaebi and her delegation for the visit, assuring them of the support of his political structure for Chief Adowei Freedom Binaebi and other NDC candidates.

He described the Delta South senatorial candidate as a father and leader whose ambition deserved the collective backing of party members, adding that Warri South was home to him.

“Chief Adowei is our father and our leader in Delta South. His victory is our victory. We are one family in NDC,” Merogun said.
The meeting ended on a note of solidarity, with participants reaffirming their commitment to the party’s aspirations ahead of the 2027 general elections. The gathering also featured group photographs and chants in support of the NDC and its candidates.
The engagement underscores ongoing efforts by party stakeholders to strengthen internal cohesion, consolidate political alliances and mobilise grassroots support for the NDC in Delta State ahead of the forthcoming elections.
