The Executive Director, Housing Finance and Account, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Dr. Vincent Iorja Gisaor, has inspected LGEA Ivenge Primary School in Vandeikya, Benue State, where he began his educational journey, expressing concern over the deteriorating condition of some of the school’s facilities.
Dr. Gisaor visited the school on Friday, October 2, 2026, while on his way to attend the burial of Tyoor Mbakaange, Chief Samuel Sendeior Songo, in Vandeikya.
The Executive Director, who was received and led on an inspection tour by the Headmaster of the school, reflected on his educational journey from the institution and expressed appreciation for the foundation it provided for his subsequent academic and professional accomplishments as a lawyer and Associate Professor of Economics.
During the inspection, Dr. Gisaor observed the poor state of some of the school’s facilities and said he would return to explore ways of contributing to their rehabilitation and development.
He also pledged to consult with relevant authorities and stakeholders towards facilitating necessary interventions that would help restore the school to a more conducive and contemporary learning environment.
Dr. Gisaor commended the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for what he described as his administration’s efforts towards improving the welfare of teachers through the consistent payment of salaries, as well as initiatives aimed at providing better classroom accommodation for schoolchildren across the state.
He, however, appealed for urgent attention to LGEA Ivenge Primary School, noting that improved facilities would contribute to creating a better learning environment for pupils and support teachers in effectively carrying out their responsibilities.
The FHA Executive Director expressed his willingness to partner with the Benue State Government and other relevant stakeholders to give the school a facelift and restore its facilities to an acceptable standard.
He commended the teachers for their resilience and dedication despite the challenges posed by inadequate classroom accommodation, while also appreciating the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) for its support and contributions to the development of the institution.
Dr. Gisaor urged the school community to remain committed to the education and upbringing of the pupils, stressing that quality education remains fundamental to the development of society.
