“Eseigbe We Know, Eseigbe We Trust!” — Okpebholo Unveils APC Candidate In Igueben, Ebelle
Enthusiastic chants of “Eseigbe we know, Eseigbe we trust!” rented the air at the Igueben Local Government Palace Field as Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, formally unveiled Sir Lucky Eseigbe, Esq., as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The unveiling took place during the governor’s ward-to-ward visitation tour, which brought together APC leaders, traditional rulers, chiefs, community stakeholders, women’s groups and party supporters to discuss development priorities and formally introduce the party’s candidates to the people.
The presentation of Eseigbe attracted enthusiastic reactions from supporters, who repeatedly chanted his name and expressed confidence in his candidacy.
During the engagement, Okpebholo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, particularly road construction and rehabilitation. He cited the Uromi road project as an example of his administration’s response to the needs of the people, noting that construction had commenced on a section of the road.
Addressing concerns over road infrastructure in Igueben, the governor urged residents to support the APC in the forthcoming elections, assuring them that their development priorities would receive attention.
“I want you to vote massively for the APC in Igueben in the forthcoming elections. With your overwhelming support, we will work together to ensure that the road project receives the attention it deserves,” Okpebholo said.
Governor Unveils Eseigbe In Ebelle, Promises Hospital Project
The governor’s visitation tour subsequently moved to Ebelle, where residents from Wards 6 to 10 gathered in large numbers to receive him.
The event attracted party faithful, women’s groups, traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders, who turned out to participate in the engagement.
Welcoming the governor to Ebelle, the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Ken Ihensekhien, expressed appreciation for the approval of road and electricity projects in the area.
He, however, appealed to the state government to construct a general hospital or establish a fully equipped general hospital annex to improve access to healthcare services for residents.
Responding, Okpebholo commended the massive turnout and thanked APC members, supporters, women’s groups and traditional leaders for their continued support.
He explained that the visit was intended to appreciate the people for their support for the APC, interact with community members and formally unveil the party’s candidates, rather than serve as a campaign rally.
On the request for improved healthcare facilities, the governor announced that a hospital project had been approved for Ebelle and that the contractor had been mobilised to site.
He also assured the people that infrastructure development would be extended to the ward as part of his administration’s commitment to addressing the needs of communities across the state.

His unveiling was greeted with cheers, praises and joyful dancing as supporters celebrated his emergence before party leaders, traditional rulers and community members.
The repeated chants of “Eseigbe we know, Eseigbe we trust!” reflected the enthusiasm among supporters at the gatherings in Igueben and Ebelle, where the candidate was presented directly to grassroots party members and community stakeholders.
The engagements also provided an opportunity for residents to raise concerns about roads, electricity and healthcare, while the governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to addressing infrastructure and other development needs.
Eseigbe’s presentation at the two gatherings formed a significant part of the governor’s ongoing engagement with APC grassroots structures across the federal constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
