DAL Pledges Youth-Focused Representation For Southern Ijaw

Diepreye Abaye Leghemo, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, has emphasised the need for greater opportunities for young people, pledging to make youth development a key part of his representation agenda.

Leghemo said young people in Southern Ijaw deserved access to meaningful employment, quality education, entrepreneurship opportunities, skills development and other initiatives that would enable them to build better futures.

He noted that the dreams and aspirations of young people required deliberate attention, stressing that their talents should be encouraged and their contributions recognised in the development of their communities.

According to him, effective representation must include sustained advocacy for policies and opportunities that empower young people to contribute meaningfully to society.

“As I seek to represent Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, the future of our youths must remain an important part of the conversation about effective representation,” he said.

The NDC candidate also called for an inclusive society where young people are given a voice, women receive adequate support, families are valued, and communities are better represented in national affairs.

Leghemo urged residents of Southern Ijaw to join him in pursuing a future built on inclusion, opportunity and community development.

He further called on voters to support the NDC in the January 16, 2027, election for Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, expressing optimism that collective participation would help advance the aspirations of the people.

The candidate signed off his message with the campaign slogan, #DALForThePeople, reaffirming his commitment to people-oriented representation.
