Aduga Mobilises Izzi People For Nigeria’s 66th Independence, Ebonyi’s 30th Anniversary
The Ebonyi State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and Chairman of Izzi Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Helen Nnenna Aduga, has mobilised a large number of people from Izzi LGA to commemorate Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary and the 30th Anniversary of the creation of Ebonyi State.
The joint anniversary celebration was held on Thursday at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki, bringing together government officials, political leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders, youths, women and citizens from across the state.
The event provided an opportunity for participants to celebrate Nigeria’s journey since independence and Ebonyi State’s three decades of existence, while reaffirming their commitment to unity, patriotism and development.
Aduga, who participated actively in the celebration, was commended for her grassroots mobilisation, with a large contingent of Izzi people attending the event in solidarity with the state government and the anniversary celebrations.
The celebration also featured reflections on the development strides recorded in Ebonyi State under the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, human capital development and inclusive governance.
A statement by Kingsley Ogbonna Nweda described Governor Nwifuru as a leader who has demonstrated the capacity to pursue infrastructural development alongside human capital development, noting that his administration had continued to prioritise programmes aimed at improving the welfare and living conditions of the people.
The statement further called for renewed patriotism, unity and collective commitment to the peace, progress and prosperity of Nigeria and Ebonyi State.
It congratulated Nigerians on the 66th Independence Anniversary and the people of Ebonyi State on the 30th anniversary of the state’s creation, while expressing hope for continued growth and development.
“May Nigeria continue to advance in peace, unity and prosperity, and may Ebonyi State continue to rise to greater heights,” the statement said.
