2027: Oyarekwa Felix Pledges Competence, Accountability For Akoko-Edo Constituency II

Amb. (Dr.) Austine Oyarekwa Felix-Aderi, the National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for Akoko-Edo Constituency II in the 2027 Edo State House of Assembly election, has called on the electorate to embrace purposeful leadership, accountability and a development-driven representation capable of addressing the needs of the constituency.

Oyarekwa, who brings over two decades of experience in human resources management, organisational development and international development, is positioning his candidacy around human capital development, youth empowerment, education, community development and transparent leadership.

He believes that effective representation requires more than occupying public office, stressing the need for a leader who understands the challenges facing the people, identifies development priorities and builds strategic partnerships to attract opportunities to the constituency.

According to him, the future of Akoko-Edo Constituency II depends on electing a representative with the competence, character and vision to champion policies that improve the lives of constituents and create sustainable opportunities for future generations.

A major focus of his proposed agenda is education and youth development. Oyarekwa maintains that young people deserve access to quality education, vocational training, skills acquisition programmes and mentorship opportunities that will prepare them for the demands of a changing economy.

His professional background, he believes, provides a solid foundation for advocating policies and partnerships that prioritise human capital development and equip young people with the knowledge and skills required to compete effectively in today's world.

On accountability, the aspirant-turned-candidate emphasises that public office is a position of trust that must be exercised in the interest of the people. He advocates transparency, responsible leadership and a clear commitment to ensuring that the mandate entrusted to elected representatives translates into meaningful benefits for their constituents.

Oyarekwa has also identified infrastructure, community security advocacy and economic opportunities as important areas requiring sustained attention. His vision is to promote inclusive development by ensuring that the concerns of communities across Akoko-Edo Constituency II receive adequate attention in legislative deliberations and government programmes.

He further believes that effective representation must extend beyond immediate political considerations to include long-term planning, strategic engagement and partnerships capable of opening new development pathways for the constituency.

As the 2027 election approaches, Oyarekwa is urging voters to consider competence, accountability, vision and a demonstrated commitment to public service when making their choice at the polls.

His campaign message centres on the need to prepare the next generation for greater opportunities, strengthen communities and promote a system of representation in which the interests and aspirations of the people remain paramount.

For Akoko-Edo Constituency II, the coming election presents an opportunity for voters to assess competing visions for the constituency's future and determine the kind of leadership they want at the Edo State House of Assembly.

Oyarekwa is seeking the mandate of the electorate to represent Akoko-Edo Constituency II in the 2027 Edo State House of Assembly election on the platform of the National Democratic Party (NDP).

He is calling on supporters and eligible voters to rally behind his candidacy, describing his vision as one anchored on competence, education, youth empowerment, accountability and purposeful representation.
