Udebhulu Named Secretary Of Edo APC Diaspora Campaign Subcommittee

The Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its 2026/2027 Presidential, National Assembly and State House of Assembly Campaign Council, with APC chieftain and communication strategist, Prince Kelly Udebhulu, appointed Secretary of the Diaspora Campaign Subcommittee.

The subcommittee is headed by Mr. Frank Okoyo as Director.

The appointments were contained in a statement dated September 21, 2026, and signed by the Edo State APC Publicity Secretary, Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, according to the details made available on the constitution of the campaign council.

The newly constituted council brings together party leaders and stakeholders across various specialised committees, including administration, operations and logistics, finance, publicity and media, mobilisation, diaspora affairs, youths and students, women, traders, legal affairs, ICT and research.

The broader campaign structure is chaired by Governor Monday Okpebholo as Chairman of the Campaign Advisory Council, with Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Chief Jarrett Tenebe serving as Co-Chairmen, while Senator Matthew Urhoghide is listed as Director-General.

Udebhulu Brings Campaign, Media Experience

Udebhulu's appointment places an experienced political communicator and diaspora engagement advocate in a key position within the party's campaign structure ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.q

An APC chieftain from Ward 8, Esan West Local Government Area, Udebhulu previously served as Director of Communication and National Orientation of the Edo APC Governorship Campaign Council during the 2024 governorship election. Contemporary reports also documented his elevation from Deputy Director to Director of Media during that campaign.

His work during the 2024 campaign earned recognition from the APC Edo Diaspora Chapter, which presented him with an award for his contribution to the party's governorship campaign.

Beyond partisan campaign activities, Udebhulu has continued to build a professional profile around journalism, strategic communication and international engagement. In July 2026, EuroAfrica Chamber of Commerce and Industries appointed him Director of Media and Publicity for the Africa Region, with responsibilities including media relations, stakeholder engagement and strengthening the chamber's visibility across Africa.

His professional background is particularly relevant to a diaspora-focused campaign assignment, given the importance of communication and coordination across geographically dispersed party members and supporters.
Diaspora Engagement Takes Centre Stage

The creation of a dedicated Diaspora Campaign Subcommittee also underscores the growing role of Edo indigenes and party supporters outside Nigeria in political mobilisation and engagement.

For a campaign structure covering presidential, National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections, the diaspora desk is expected to provide an organised channel for communicating with Edo stakeholders abroad and coordinating their participation in the electoral process.

Udebhulu has previously been involved in diaspora affairs, including activities connected to the Edo State Diaspora Agency, while his political history includes service as Publicity Secretary of the APC Spain Chapter.

His experience across party politics, journalism, media management and diaspora engagement gives him a combination of skills relevant to the communication and organisational demands of the new assignment.

Okoyo To Lead Subcommittee

The Diaspora Campaign Subcommittee will be led by Frank Okoyo, who also has experience in diaspora mobilisation and served as Director of Diaspora Affairs in the 2024 Edo APC Governorship Campaign Council.

The appointment further positions diaspora engagement as a specialised component of the Edo APC's 2026/2027 campaign architecture.

With Okoyo providing leadership and Udebhulu serving as Secretary, the subcommittee is expected to combine organisational coordination with communication and stakeholder engagement as the party prepares for the forthcoming electoral cycle.

A New Assignment for Udebhulu

The latest appointment represents another significant responsibility for Udebhulu within the Edo APC's political and campaign structure.

His progression through different campaign assignments — from Deputy Director to Director of Media and Communication and National Orientation during the 2024 governorship campaign, and now Secretary of the Diaspora Campaign Subcommittee — reflects his continued involvement in the party's communication and mobilisation activities.

It also comes at a period when political parties are expanding their campaign structures ahead of the 2027 general elections. INEC's 2027 electoral timetable has already moved the political environment into an active campaign cycle, with parties increasingly organising specialised structures for mobilisation, communication and stakeholder engagement.

For the Edo APC, the new council provides a framework through which its various campaign directorates and subcommittees can coordinate activities across different constituencies and voter groups.

The appointment of Okoyo and Udebhulu therefore places two party figures with previous diaspora campaign experience at the centre of the party's dedicated diaspora structure, giving the subcommittee continuity from the 2024 campaign while creating a broader platform for engagement ahead of 2027.
