Oyarekwa Felix Unveils Vision For Akoko-Edo Constituency 2

Dr. Austine Oyarekwa Felix has outlined a development vision centred on education, people-oriented leadership, accountability and sustainable development for Akoko-Edo Constituency 2.

Felix, an educator and doctorate holder, said his vision is anchored on the belief that effective representation should go beyond occupying a legislative seat to identifying the needs of constituents and pursuing practical solutions to them.

According to his campaign message, education and human capital development would form a major part of his proposed agenda, with emphasis on expanding opportunities for young people, promoting skills development and creating an environment where education can translate into productive livelihoods.

He also highlighted people-centred leadership as another pillar of his vision, stressing the importance of listening to communities, understanding their priorities and representing their interests responsibly.

On infrastructure and economic development, Felix's agenda includes pursuing practical interventions that could support employment, economic opportunities and community development across the constituency.

He further emphasised the need for what he described as “visionary representation”, arguing that legislative office should be approached as an opportunity to bring knowledge, experience and fresh ideas to the service of the people.

Akoko-Edo Constituency 2 remains an important political and development area in Edo State. Recent developments have continued to highlight infrastructure, education, youth empowerment and community development needs in the constituency. For instance, reports in 2026 documented government intervention following storm damage in Atteh, while constituency-level discussions have continued to focus on development and effective representation.

Against this backdrop, Felix's campaign is presenting education, leadership, accountability and development as the central themes of his proposed representation.

His message calls on voters to consider issues including ideas, experience, character, measurable plans and the long-term development of Akoko-Edo Constituency 2.

“Give the people leadership that understands their challenges, values education and has a clear vision for the future,” his campaign message stated.

Dr. Austine Oyarekwa Felix is therefore positioning his aspiration around a development-focused approach that places education and human capital development alongside responsive leadership and sustainable community development.
