Oyarekwa Felix Pledges People-Centred Development For Akoko-Edo Constituency II

Dr. Austine Oyarekwa Felix, candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP) for Akoko-Edo Constituency II, has unveiled a people-centred development vision anchored on human capital development, empowerment, inclusion and sustainable prosperity.

Felix said the time has come for the people of Akoko-Edo Constituency II to fully benefit from the enormous potential and resources of their communities, stressing that genuine development must place the people at the centre of every development effort.

According to him, empowering people with relevant skills, quality education, healthcare, economic opportunities and the necessary support to improve their livelihoods remains critical to building stronger and more prosperous communities.

He described human capital development as a major pathway to unlocking the potential of the constituency, particularly among young people and women.

The NDP candidate's vision is captured in the theme, “From Mineral Wealth to Community Wealth,” reflecting his aspiration to transform the natural and human resources of Akoko-Edo into tangible opportunities, sustainable livelihoods and improved living standards for the people.

Felix said his agenda would place strong emphasis on youth empowerment by promoting skills development and opportunities that can enable young people to become productive and self-reliant.

He also highlighted the need to support women in growing their businesses and achieving greater economic independence, while advocating improved access to essential infrastructure and basic services across communities.

Beyond economic empowerment, Felix said the people must have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their future, stressing the importance of inclusive representation and responsive leadership.

He expressed optimism that with collective effort and purposeful representation, Akoko-Edo Constituency II can achieve a new level of development anchored on hope, dignity, inclusion, opportunity and shared prosperity.

Felix therefore called on the people of Akoko-Edo Constituency II to support his vision of a constituency where people are empowered, communities thrive and available opportunities are translated into meaningful impact.

“When the people are empowered, communities thrive, and the nation grows,” he said.
