Gisaor Hosts Benue DG, Others, Charges Support Groups On Grassroots Mobilisation

The Executive Director, Housing Finance and Account, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Dr. Vincent Iorja Gisaor, has received the Director-General of the Benue State Bureau for Special Projects and Infrastructure, Engr. Prof. Gabriel Delian Akpen, alongside other government appointees and political stakeholders, at his office in Abuja.

The engagements focused on strategies for strengthening grassroots mobilisation and improving coordination among support groups in Benue State and beyond ahead of the 2027 general elections.
During separate interactions with the visitors, Dr. Gisaor emphasised the importance of support groups in grassroots political mobilisation and called for greater collaboration among government appointees, politicians and members of the various support groups.

He urged stakeholders to intensify mobilisation efforts in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, support groups constitute an important segment of the political mobilisation structure, noting that many of their members had made significant contributions to electioneering activities over the years.

Dr. Gisaor also called for greater attention to the concerns and welfare of members of the constituency, saying this informed his decision to appoint a Special Assistant responsible for support-group affairs to strengthen communication, coordination and engagement with the groups.
The FHA Executive Director pledged to continue carrying members of the support groups along in his programmes and activities, assuring them of his commitment to listening to their concerns and supporting efforts aimed at improving their welfare.

He said the initiative was designed to strengthen the support-group constituency and sustain grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In his remarks, Prof. Akpen, who is also the Secretary-General of Divine Mandate Worldwide, expressed concern over what he described as the near relegation of the support-groups constituency.
He pledged to support initiatives aimed at securing greater recognition and attention for members of the groups, while commending Dr. Gisaor for appointing individuals from the support-group constituency.

Prof. Akpen, who was accompanied by his wife, Engr. Mrs. Akpen, encouraged Dr. Gisaor to sustain efforts towards addressing the challenges confronting members of the constituency. He also commended their resilience and commitment to grassroots mobilisation.

Earlier, Dr. Gisaor had received Associate Professor Dennis Terpase Nomor of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi; Dr. Solomon Terzua Wombo, Benue State Director of Medical Services; Hon. Manasseh Anyaku, APC flagbearer for Agashua State Constituency; Hon. Mrs. Grace AƓndo, Principal Special Assistant to the Governor of Benue State on Orphanages and Rehabilitation; and Mr. Terver Adom, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Benue State on Special Duties.
The visitors also discussed issues relating to grassroots engagement and mobilisation, with Dr. Gisaor urging stakeholders to sustain efforts towards mobilising support for President Tinubu, Governor Alia and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
