Ebonyi ALGON Chairmen Thank God, Applaud Nwifuru’s People-Centred Leadership
The 13 Local Government Chairmen in Ebonyi State, under the umbrella of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Ebonyi State Chapter, have held a thanksgiving service to appreciate God for the successful commencement of their new tenure and to reaffirm their commitment to grassroots development.
The service, held on Sunday at the Ebonyi State Government House Chapel, Abakaliki, was led by the action-oriented Chairman of Ebonyi State ALGON, Hon. Mrs. Helen Nnenna Aduga, who joined her fellow council chairmen in offering prayers of thanksgiving and seeking divine wisdom for the task ahead.
The gathering underscored the growing emphasis on God, unity and purposeful leadership within Ebonyi’s local government administration.
Beyond the spiritual significance of the event, the thanksgiving also provided an opportunity for the council chairmen to acknowledge the leadership of Governor Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, whose administration has continued to place emphasis on development, institutional strengthening and improved welfare of the people.
The chairmen expressed appreciation for the Governor’s leadership and the enabling environment created for local governments to contribute meaningfully to the development of their respective communities.
Under the leadership of Hon. Mrs. Aduga, Ebonyi ALGON is expected to strengthen collaboration among the 13 councils and align grassroots governance with the broader development vision of the Nwifuru administration.
The thanksgiving service therefore served as both an expression of gratitude and a renewed commitment to responsible leadership, effective service delivery and people-centred governance across Ebonyi State.
The gathering ended with prayers for continued wisdom, peace and divine guidance for Governor Nwifuru, the ALGON leadership, the 13 Local Government Chairmen and the people of Ebonyi State.
