Dangyang Condemns Mangu Attack, Calls For Urgent Action To Protect Lives, Property

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Prince Simon Chiroma Dangyang, has condemned the recent deadly attack in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the loss of innocent lives and destruction of property as deeply disturbing and unacceptable.

Dangyang, in a statement, expressed concern over the reported killing of residents in the Bin-Per community, as well as the destruction of homes and property and the displacement of families affected by the violence.

He extended his condolences to the families who lost loved ones and expressed solidarity with residents and communities affected by the incident.

The NDC candidate called on the Federal Government, Plateau State Government and relevant security agencies to take urgent and decisive steps to strengthen the protection of vulnerable communities across the state.

According to him, security agencies should enhance intelligence gathering, surveillance, early-warning mechanisms and rapid-response capabilities to prevent further attacks and safeguard residents.

He also called for the perpetrators of the violence to be identified, arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law, stressing that citizens should be able to live, farm and conduct their legitimate businesses without fear.

Dangyang further appealed to residents of Mangu and Plateau State to remain calm and united, urging them to reject retaliation and avoid actions that could further escalate tensions in the affected communities.

“Enough is enough. Plateau deserves peace, security, justice, and protection for every citizen,” he said.

The candidate reaffirmed his concern for the safety and wellbeing of residents of the constituency and Plateau State, calling for sustained efforts by government and security authorities to restore confidence and ensure the protection of lives and property.
