Bibi Pays Tribute To Dan Orbih, Mourns Loss Of Edo Elder, Mentor

The Edo South Senatorial Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Sunday Aguebor, popularly known as BIBI, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Chief Dan Osi Orbih, describing his death as a painful loss to the Orbih family, the people of Edo State and all those who benefited from his wisdom and guidance.

Chief Orbih reportedly passed away on August 31, 2026, leaving family members, associates, community leaders and admirers to mourn the loss of a figure Aguebor described as a revered mentor and father figure.

In a condolence message, Aguebor extended his heartfelt sympathies to the entire Orbih family, the people of Edo State and others mourning the deceased.

He described the late Chief Orbih as a pillar of integrity, community builder and father figure, whose wisdom, kindness and commitment to the advancement of his people made a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

According to Aguebor, Orbih's influence extended beyond his immediate family, with his contributions and personal relationships touching different aspects of community life.

“Chief Orbih was a pillar of integrity, a community builder, and a father figure whose wisdom, kindness, and unwavering commitment to the progress of our people left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him,” Aguebor stated.

The NDC candidate said the death of the Edo elder was not only a personal loss to his family but also a significant loss to the wider Edo community.

He noted that the passing of people who devoted themselves to the wellbeing and development of their communities often creates a void that cannot easily be filled, particularly when such individuals served as sources of guidance and inspiration to younger generations.

Aguebor expressed solidarity with the bereaved family at what he described as a difficult moment, acknowledging the pain associated with losing a loved one and community patriarch.

He prayed that God would grant members of the Orbih family the strength, courage and fortitude required to bear the loss, while also asking for comfort for everyone affected by the death.

The Edo South senatorial candidate further prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, saying his memory would continue to live through the people he impacted during his lifetime.

“His passing is not just a loss to his immediate family, but a profound blow to the collective soul of the Edo people and the broader political and traditional landscape,” Aguebor said.

He urged the family to take solace in the legacy left behind by the deceased and the memories shared with those whose lives he touched.

Aguebor's condolence message comes as tributes continue to be expressed following the reported death of Chief Dan Osi Orbih.

He concluded by reaffirming his solidarity with the Orbih family and praying that the Almighty would grant the deceased eternal rest.
