Bibi Distributes Over 10,000 Litres Free Fuel, Cooking Gas To Residents
Hon. Sunny Aguebor, popularly known as Bibi, businessman, philanthropist and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Edo South Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, has distributed more than 10,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and cooking gas free of charge to members of the public.
The gesture, which lasted several days, was carried out at various outlets of Bibi Group, where motorists, customers and residents were given free fuel and cooking gas as part of Aguebor's effort to give back to society.
Motorists who arrived at the filling stations expecting to purchase petrol were pleasantly surprised when they were informed that they could have their vehicle tanks filled free of charge.
The exercise attracted beneficiaries from different backgrounds, with the gesture extending beyond political or religious affiliations.
One of the beneficiaries expressed her excitement, explaining that she had arrived at the filling station intending to buy only a few litres of fuel but was surprised to receive a full tank at no cost.
Another beneficiary described the gesture as unexpected and encouraged residents in the surrounding communities to take advantage of the initiative.
Speaking during the exercise, Aguebor said his motivation was to give back to society and put smiles on the faces of people.
He explained that the distribution had continued for five days, with arrangements made for more than 10,000 litres of fuel to be distributed to members of the public.
According to him, the initiative was particularly targeted at people within Oredo and other areas covered by the participating outlets, while the grand finale marked the conclusion of the five-day exercise.
Cooking gas was also distributed free of charge as part of the programme, providing additional support to households and residents who benefited from the initiative.
Some beneficiaries described Aguebor's gesture as consistent with his longstanding philanthropic activities.
One beneficiary said: “For me, having known him for a very long time, I am not surprised because this is actually in his nature. He is benevolent and has a very high philanthropic spirit.”
Aguebor emerged as the NDC's Edo South senatorial candidate in 2026, and the Edo South chapter of the party subsequently reaffirmed him as its candidate as the party commenced mobilisation for the 2027 election.
The free-fuel and cooking-gas distribution, however, was presented as a philanthropic initiative aimed at providing immediate assistance to members of the public.
For the beneficiaries, the exercise offered direct relief, particularly to motorists and households dealing with the cost of petrol and cooking gas.
The initiative has continued to attract appreciation from beneficiaries, many of whom expressed gratitude to Aguebor for the unexpected support and described the gesture as another demonstration of his commitment to giving back to society.
