Amabu Unveils WaaGovernment Ecosystem For Nation Building, Civic Education, African Progress
Ledogo Amabu, Chairman of the LOCECE Foundation and Convener of the Love for Country Campaign, has unveiled the WaaGovernment Ecosystem, an educational and civic initiative designed to promote responsible citizenship, patriotism, community development and nation building across Nigeria and Africa.
According to Amabu, the WaaGovernment Ecosystem is built around the philosophy of domesticating nation building, patriotism and social change through people-oriented leadership and active community participation.
He explained that the initiative recognises that meaningful national transformation begins from the grassroots and the micro-systems of society, where citizens interact, learn, provide leadership and contribute to the development of their communities.
Amabu said the ecosystem brings together education, civic engagement, youth leadership, community participation and cultural expression as practical tools for encouraging Nigerians, particularly young people, to take responsibility for the development of their communities and country.
At the intellectual foundation of the initiative are books and resource materials authored by Amabu, including Education: The Bedrock of Nation Building: A Reflection on Education, Citizenship, Democracy and African Development.
He noted that the books are intended to provide intellectual and educational foundations, while civic education and the Love for Country Campaign seek to translate knowledge into responsible citizenship, participation and community action.
A major component of the WaaGovernment Ecosystem is the proposed Nation Building Clubs, which are designed to create platforms where young people and students can learn about patriotism, leadership, citizenship, nation building and their collective responsibilities to society.
The initiative also promotes the establishment and support of WaaGovernment Nation Building Clubs in schools and communities, with activities focused on student leadership, civic responsibility, community service and nation-building conversations.
According to Amabu, the ecosystem is driven by a philosophy of hope and faith through Reformation, the Awakening Song for National Rebirth, a cultural and musical expression intended to promote unity, patriotic action, love for country and belief in Nigeria and Africa.
He explained that the song provides a cultural dimension to the values promoted through the WaaGovernment initiative, taking the message of nation building beyond books and educational spaces and into communities and public gatherings.
“The foundation of the ecosystem is education. The pathway is responsible citizenship. The continuity is through participation and community engagement,” Amabu stated.
He added that the initiative is targeted at young people and students, leaders, education stakeholders, policymakers, lawmakers, public officials, youth organisations and development-oriented institutions.
As part of the WaaGovernment Book Project, individuals and organisations are encouraged to read and engage with the books, purchase copies for schools, institutions, libraries and development organisations, and introduce the WaaGovernment School Civic Education Package into educational institutions.
The package is expected to support conversations around civic education, youth leadership, character development, patriotism and nation building.
The initiative also invites schools, communities, churches and youth organisations to organise civic engagement programmes and leadership conversations, while encouraging institutions and individuals to support the sponsorship of books, school engagements, civic education programmes and Reformation performances.
Amabu said the ultimate objective is to move nation building beyond discussions and transform education into responsible citizenship, community action and measurable development outcomes.
He urged Nigerians and Africans, particularly young people, to “think beyond the classroom” and recognise their role in building peaceful, responsible and progressive communities.
Amabu, who is also described as an author, Pan-African Development Writer and Nation Building Coach, said the WaaGovernment Ecosystem represents an ongoing effort to connect education with citizenship, leadership, community development, African progress and peace.
He called on schools, government agencies, policymakers, civil society organisations, youth groups, community leaders and development partners to join the initiative and contribute to expanding its reach across Nigeria and Africa.
