2027: Etete Welcomes Kwankwaso To Rivers, Calls For Unity To Rescue Nigeria
The 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Andoni/Opobo-Nkoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Cpt. Emiyarei Etete Sobere, has welcomed the arrival of the party’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to Rivers State.
Etete described Kwankwaso’s visit as a significant step in the collective effort to rescue and rebuild Nigeria, stressing the need for purposeful, competent and people-focused leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking after welcoming the former Kano State Governor on Wednesday, Etete commended his experience in governance and public service, saying Nigeria was at a critical crossroads and could not afford to continue with approaches that had failed to deliver the desired results.
“Nigeria is at a critical crossroads. We cannot continue doing things the same way and expect a different outcome. The time has come for Nigerians to unite behind leadership that can restore hope, security, opportunity and prosperity,” he said.
The NDC candidate described Kwankwaso’s role in the party as an important contribution to its growing national movement, noting that the task of national transformation required unity, discipline and a shared commitment to rebuilding the country.
He also called on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to rise above ethnic, religious, regional and political divisions and place the collective interest of the country above sectional considerations.
According to him, the 2027 election should not be viewed merely as a contest among individual candidates or political interests, but as an opportunity for Nigerians to determine the kind of country they want to build for future generations.
“The 2027 election is bigger than individual candidates or political interests. It is about the Nigeria we want to leave for the next generation. We must unite, we must act and we must rescue Nigeria as a matter of emergency,” Etete stated.
Expressing optimism about Nigeria’s potential, he said the country could achieve sustainable prosperity through responsible leadership, effective representation, improved security and an economy capable of creating meaningful opportunities for citizens.
Etete further reaffirmed his commitment to the people of the Andoni/Opobo-Nkoro Federal Constituency, promising to provide courageous, accountable and purposeful representation if elected to the National Assembly.
“Our people deserve representation that puts their interests first. I am committed to that responsibility and together, we can be part of the movement to rescue Nigeria and build the future we deserve,” he said.
