Ovia Deserves A Stronger Voice At The Federal House Of Representatives—Aiguobarueghian

Ovia Federal Constituency deserves a stronger and more effective voice at the Federal House of Representatives to adequately articulate the needs and aspirations of its people, Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian has said.

Aiguobarueghian, a former member of the Edo State House of Assembly and candidate of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Ovia Federal Constituency, made the assertion while highlighting the need for improved representation and greater development in the constituency.

According to him, Ovia has the population, resources and potential to attract meaningful development but requires a bold representative who can effectively champion its interests at the federal level.

He pointed to his experience at the Edo State House of Assembly as evidence of his commitment to grassroots representation, noting that his legislative interventions focused on issues affecting ordinary residents, including education, healthcare, water supply, markets and youth empowerment.

Aiguobarueghian stressed that the challenges facing Ovia require stronger advocacy at the federal level, particularly in the rehabilitation of federal roads, attraction of federal institutions, creation of employment opportunities and empowerment programmes for youths, women and other residents.

He said his experience, legislative knowledge and understanding of grassroots issues have prepared him for the responsibility of representing Ovia in the Green Chambers.

The former lawmaker also pledged to remain accessible and committed to the people, emphasizing that effective representation should be measured by tangible results rather than titles.

He further expressed confidence that youths, market women, community leaders and other stakeholders across Ovia would support his aspiration based on his record and commitment to people-oriented leadership.

“Ovia will no longer whisper. Ovia will speak. Ovia will be heard,” he said, stressing the need for the constituency to elect a representative who will boldly speak on issues concerning education, security, infrastructure and economic development.

Aiguobarueghian therefore called on voters across Ovia Federal Constituency to support his candidacy in the 2027 House of Representatives election under the platform of the NDC.
