Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on New Media, Leo Ekene Oketa, has expressed appreciation to Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for his deliberate investment in youth development and for creating platforms that enable young people in the state to contribute meaningfully to society.
Oketa made the remarks after he was honoured by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ebonyi State Chapter, during the grand finale of the Council’s one-week programme.
He commended Governor Nwifuru for his leadership and commitment to building the capacity of young people, noting that the administration’s youth-focused initiatives have continued to provide opportunities for Ebonyi youths to develop their potentials, contribute to governance and make positive impacts in their communities.
The Special Assistant also acknowledged the leadership of the NYCN Ebonyi State Chapter under its Chairman, Comrade Douglas Ochisi, for championing youth development, productivity and meaningful participation across the state.
Describing the recognition as a great honour and responsibility, Oketa expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the development of Ebonyi State.
He equally appreciated Governor Nwifuru for the confidence reposed in him and for providing the platform to serve, contribute and make an impact, while also thanking his family for their unwavering love, support and encouragement.
According to him, the recognition goes beyond an award, as it serves as a fresh charge to take on greater responsibilities and rededicate himself to serving the people.
“For me, this recognition is not merely an honour; it is a charge to take on more responsibility, to serve more, and to do more,” Oketa said.
He further stressed that leadership remains a continuous call to service, assuring that he would remain committed to giving his best, contributing meaningfully to the development of the state and doing more for the people.
Oketa concluded by expressing his appreciation to the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ebonyi State Chapter, for the recognition, describing the honour as a source of renewed motivation to continue serving with dedication and purpose.
