NDC Chikun/Kajuru Aspirant Joins Team To Welcome Kwankwaso Back To Abuja, Reaffirms Commitment To Constituency Development
A leading aspirant for the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. M. Buhari Udaws, has joined other party stakeholders and supporters in welcoming former Kano State Governor and prominent political leader, His Excellency, Engr. Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, back to Abuja.
The engagement came shortly after Udaws participated in a meeting with NDC national stakeholders in Abuja, where issues concerning the party’s political direction, grassroots mobilisation and preparations for the 2027 general elections were discussed.
Udaws, who has continued to position himself as a grassroots-oriented politician, said his participation in the welcome ceremony reflected his commitment to working with other stakeholders to strengthen the party and advance the interests of Nigerians.
For the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Udaws has consistently presented his political aspiration around people-centred representation, inclusive development and practical interventions that directly affect the lives of constituents.
His supporters describe him as a leader with a strong connection to the grassroots and a demonstrated concern for the welfare of ordinary people. A previous community group endorsement described Udaws as a transformational leader with a passion for education, empowerment and grassroots development, citing his reported interventions in communities across Chikun and Kajuru.
Udaws' supporters have also highlighted his interest in improving educational opportunities, empowering youths and women, supporting community infrastructure and promoting policies capable of improving the economic wellbeing of constituents.
The Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency comprises Chikun and Kajuru Local Government Areas and has historically attracted considerable political attention because of its large electorate and developmental challenges. The constituency became vacant following the death of former representative Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams in July 2024, before a by-election was subsequently conducted in August 2025.
Against this background, Udaws' renewed political engagement is being viewed by his supporters as part of a broader effort to provide what they describe as purposeful, responsive and accountable representation for the people of Chikun and Kajuru.
His supporters maintain that his aspiration is not merely about occupying a political office but about using representation as a platform to create opportunities, strengthen communities and ensure that the voices and needs of constituents receive adequate attention at the federal level.
As political activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum, Udaws is expected to sustain his engagements with NDC stakeholders, community leaders, youths, women and other constituents as he seeks to consolidate support for his ambition to represent the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The NDC candidate has also continued to emphasise the importance of unity, grassroots participation and collective action in building a stronger political platform capable of delivering meaningful change to the people.
