JUAofAfrica Advocates Sustainable Empowerment, Says Industrial Development Is Key To Aniocha South's Future

The Delta State House of Assembly candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Aniocha South Constituency, Hon. Jeffrey Ugochukwu Adigwe (JUAofAfrica), has called for a shift from short-term empowerment programmes to sustainable investments capable of creating lasting jobs, building skills, and driving economic growth across communities.

Speaking on his vision for economic transformation in Aniocha South, Adigwe said genuine empowerment should go beyond the distribution of cash, tricycles, motorcycles, and other temporary interventions, stressing that the real measure of empowerment lies in creating industries and opportunities that enable people to become financially independent.

The House of Assembly hopeful aligned himself with the views expressed by the NDC Delta North Senatorial candidate, Rt. Hon. (Engr.) Victor Ochei (Esq.), on the need to prioritise productive investments that generate employment and promote sustainable development.

According to Adigwe, public resources should be strategically invested in projects that have long-term economic value, including manufacturing industries, agro-processing facilities, and other enterprises capable of creating employment opportunities for youths, women, and entrepreneurs.

He explained that establishing industries across communities would not only provide direct employment but also stimulate local businesses, strengthen value chains, increase internally generated economic activities, and improve the overall standard of living.

Adigwe further noted that strategic investments in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and small-scale industries have the potential to transform rural economies, reduce unemployment, and create wealth that benefits generations rather than a few individuals.

The NDC candidate reiterated that his vision for Aniocha South is built on inclusive development, transparency, accountability, and practical solutions to the socio-economic challenges facing the constituency.

He pledged to advocate policies that encourage entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, vocational training, agricultural development, improved infrastructure, quality healthcare, better educational opportunities, and support for small and medium-scale enterprises.

According to him, meaningful development can only be achieved when government works in partnership with communities, traditional institutions, development partners, and the private sector to unlock the economic potential of the people.

Adigwe maintained that his aspiration is driven by a desire to provide effective representation that goes beyond legislative responsibilities by facilitating development initiatives, attracting investment opportunities, and creating an enabling environment for economic growth across all eleven wards of Aniocha South.
