2027: NDP’s Attah Demands Additional Local Government Council For Akoko-Edo

House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of the National Democratic Party (NDP) for Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency, Chief Dr. Thomas Attah, has called for the creation of an additional Local Government Council in the area to enhance representation, grassroots administration and equitable development.

Attah said the demand was driven by the need to bring governance closer to the people and address the developmental challenges confronting communities across Akoko-Edo.

According to him, Akoko-Edo deserves stronger representation and a governance structure that can effectively respond to the needs of its growing population and widely dispersed communities.

“Akoko-Edo deserves better representation, better development and a stronger voice. The demand for an additional Local Government Council is a legitimate call for fairness, effective administration and meaningful development across our communities.”

The NDP aspirant urged the people of Akoko-Edo to unite and speak with one voice in pursuing issues that directly affect the welfare and development of the constituency.

He also pledged that his ambition to represent the constituency in the Green Chamber was motivated by a desire to provide purposeful representation rather than merely occupy a parliamentary seat.

“I am not seeking to represent you in the Green Chamber to warm the seat or make empty promises. I am coming to represent the people, speak boldly for Akoko-Edo, fight for our interests and pursue the development our people deserve.”

Attah said, if elected, he would make the interests of the constituency central to his legislative agenda and vigorously advocate for projects, policies and initiatives capable of improving the lives of the people.

He maintained that the creation of an additional council would improve administrative efficiency, deepen grassroots participation and facilitate more equitable distribution of government programmes and development projects.

The NDP candidate called on traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, women and other stakeholders to support a united effort towards securing greater political attention and development for Akoko-Edo.

He expressed optimism that with unity and purposeful leadership, the constituency could achieve greater economic opportunities, improved infrastructure and sustainable development.
