2027: Aiguobarueghian Emerges As Strategic Choice For Stronger, More Prosperous Ovia
As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum, Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian has been presented as a strategic choice for effective and people-oriented representation of the Ovia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Aiguobarueghian, whose campaign is anchored on development, accountability, accessibility and purposeful representation, is seeking the mandate of the people of Ovia North-East and Ovia South-West to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.
In a statement made available to the media by the CIA Media, the campaign stressed that the quality of representation at the National Assembly would play a critical role in determining the ability of communities to attract federal interventions, infrastructure, employment opportunities and other development initiatives.
According to the statement, Ovia Federal Constituency needs a representative who will not only occupy a seat in Abuja but will actively engage with lawmakers, federal ministries, agencies and relevant stakeholders to attract meaningful projects and programmes to the constituency.
The campaign described Aiguobarueghian as a candidate bringing legislative competence, professional capacity and a strong commitment to addressing what it described as years of developmental challenges confronting communities across the constituency.
A major component of her proposed agenda is agriculture, with a commitment to champion federal interventions that would support farmers with improved agricultural inputs, subsidies, modern equipment and processing facilities.
The campaign noted that Ovia's agricultural potential could be better harnessed if farmers were provided with the necessary support to move beyond subsistence production and participate effectively in the agricultural value chain.
Beyond agriculture, Aiguobarueghian is also expected to push for federal intervention in the rehabilitation of critical roads linking communities and facilitating the movement of farm produce, goods and people.
The campaign further identified electricity, education and human capital development as priority areas, with emphasis on improved power supply to rural communities and the upgrading of schools to provide young people with better learning opportunities and the skills required to compete in an increasingly competitive economy.
On representation and accountability, the campaign promised a different approach to constituency engagement, including regular town hall meetings, an open-door policy and greater transparency in the implementation and monitoring of constituency projects.
It maintained that constituents deserve to know the projects attracted to their communities, the resources allocated to them and the progress of their implementation.
The statement further called for an end to what it described as "the politics of absenteeism and broken promises," insisting that effective representation must be measured by visible impact, accessibility and accountability to the people.
Aiguobarueghian's campaign is therefore positioning her candidacy around the broader vision of building an Ovia Federal Constituency where agriculture can become a stronger economic driver, infrastructure can support commerce, young people can access quality education and constituents can maintain direct communication with their representative.
The campaign urged residents of Ovia North-East and Ovia South-West to look beyond political rhetoric and support a candidate it described as prepared to provide strategic, consistent and result-oriented representation at the National Assembly.
With the 2027 elections approaching, the campaign believes that the people of Ovia have an opportunity to choose a representative capable of negotiating effectively for federal attention while remaining accountable to the constituency.
It therefore called on the people to support Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian for the House of Representatives, Ovia Federal Constituency, in the 2027 general elections.
