Nwedu Commends Governor Nwifuru's Ambulance Initiative, Says It Is Strengthening Emergency Healthcare Across Ebonyi
Hon. Nwedu Abraham Nwedu, a member of the Ebonyi State Board of Internal Revenue (EBSIRS), has commended the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Prnc. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, FCAI, GGCEHF, for strengthening emergency healthcare delivery through the distribution of brand-new ambulances to General Hospitals across the state's 13 local government areas.
In a statement made available to journalists, Nwedu described the initiative as a significant milestone in the Nwifuru administration's efforts to improve access to quality healthcare and ensure prompt emergency medical response for residents across Ebonyi State.
According to him, the ambulances have enhanced the capacity of General Hospitals to respond swiftly to medical emergencies, facilitate the safe transportation of patients, and improve access to life-saving healthcare services, particularly for people living in rural and underserved communities.
He noted that the intervention reflects Governor Nwifuru's unwavering commitment to protecting lives and improving the welfare of Ebonyians through the implementation of the People's Charter of Needs agenda.
Nwedu stated that beyond serving as emergency response vehicles, the ambulances represent the administration's determination to build a responsive healthcare system where every citizen has access to timely and efficient medical care.
He explained that the initiative has continued to provide critical support for the transportation of accident victims, expectant mothers, elderly patients, and other vulnerable persons requiring urgent medical attention, thereby strengthening healthcare delivery across the state.
According to him, Governor Nwifuru's investment in the health sector demonstrates an understanding that quality healthcare remains one of the most important responsibilities of government and a key driver of sustainable development.
The EBSIRS board member further observed that the distribution of ambulances complements other healthcare interventions of the administration aimed at improving medical infrastructure, supporting healthcare professionals, and expanding access to essential health services throughout Ebonyi State.
