NDC Intensifies Nationwide PVC Collection, Party Logo Sensitisation, Membership Registration Campaign
The National Youth Wing of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has intensified its nationwide awareness campaign on Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection, party logo sensitisation and membership registration, with a major mobilisation exercise held across Kogi State as part of activities taking place in different parts of Nigeria.
The campaign, which runs from July 4 to July 10, seeks to encourage eligible Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, identify with the party's logo, and register as members of the NDC in preparation for greater civic and political participation.
The awareness exercise attracted a large turnout of residents, particularly young people, who participated in the sensitisation programme and expressed interest in the party's message of national development and democratic participation.
Speaking after the exercise, the National Youth Wing Coordinator of the NDC, Hon. Ajodo Onuh, described the mobilisation as a success, saying the impressive turnout and enthusiasm demonstrated by participants reflected Nigerians' growing desire for positive change and responsible leadership.
He noted that the campaign is anchored on the theme, "Your PVC, Your Power. Your Future, Our Nigeria," stressing that every eligible Nigerian has a critical role to play in determining the country's future through active participation in the electoral process.
According to him, the ongoing sensitisation is not only about promoting the party but also about encouraging citizens to embrace their civic responsibility by obtaining their PVCs and participating in elections.
"The response we have received has been overwhelming. Nigerians are ready to take ownership of their future. We are encouraging everyone who is yet to collect a PVC or register with the NDC to do so. Every vote counts, and every PVC represents the power of the people to decide the future of our nation," he said.
Hon. Onuh further explained that the campaign combines PVC awareness, public education on the party's logo to enhance voter recognition, and a membership registration drive aimed at expanding the party's grassroots presence across the country.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the NDC National Youth Wing to sustaining grassroots mobilisation and civic education, noting that the nationwide exercise would continue in communities across Nigeria throughout the campaign period.
He called on Nigerians, especially youths and first-time voters, to become active participants in the democratic process by collecting their PVCs, registering with the party if they so desire, and encouraging others to do the same.
The NDC maintained that broad citizen participation remains essential to building a more prosperous, peaceful and democratic Nigeria, urging all eligible citizens to take advantage of the ongoing awareness campaign and play their part in shaping the country's future.
