JUAofAfrica Endorses Victor Ochei For Delta North Senate Seat, Highlights Experience And Leadership Record

Jeffrey Ugochukwu Adigwe (JUAofAfrica) has endorsed Rt. Hon. (Engr.) Victor Onyekachi Ochei (Esq.) as his preferred choice for the Delta North Senatorial District seat, citing his wealth of experience, legislative background, professional accomplishments, and commitment to public service.

Adigwe, in his assessment of the former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, described Ochei as a leader with the capacity, competence, and vision required to effectively represent the people of Delta North at the National Assembly.

Rt. Hon. Victor Onyekachi Ochei is a renowned Nigerian engineer, lawyer, businessman, and politician who previously served as the 11th Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly. He represented Aniocha North Constituency in the Assembly for three terms and played a key role in legislative leadership between 2011 and 2014.

Born on February 25, 1969, in Kano State, Ochei hails from Ogbekenu, Onicha-Olona, in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Benin, an MBA, and a Law degree from Delta State University, where he qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

He has also undergone executive programmes at internationally recognised institutions, including Oxford University, the University of California, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Beyond politics, Ochei has built a reputation in the engineering and business sectors as the founder of DavNotch Nigeria Limited, an engineering consultancy and construction company. He has also served as Executive Director of Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

His contributions to sports development have also been recognised through his role as President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, where he has supported grassroots talent development.

Adigwe noted that Ochei’s legislative experience, private-sector background, and community engagement place him in a strong position to provide effective representation for Delta North.

According to him, the former Speaker’s priorities include empowering youths through education and entrepreneurship, attracting federal development projects, supporting small businesses, improving healthcare and education opportunities, promoting inclusive governance, and ensuring regular engagement with constituents.

“Effective representation requires more than political ambition; it demands experience, legislative understanding, credibility, and the ability to deliver meaningful results for the people,” Adigwe stated.

Ochei, who recently joined the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC), is seeking to represent Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

As the 2027 general elections approach, supporters of the former Speaker believe his combination of legislative experience, professional expertise, and public service record makes him a strong contender for the senatorial seat.

The final decision, however, remains with the people of Delta North, who will determine their preferred representative at the polls.
