Delta Positions Itself As Nigeria’s Emerging Investment Hub, Targets Industrial Growth
Delta State is positioning itself as one of Nigeria’s leading investment destinations through strategic infrastructure development, the promotion of the blue economy and the establishment of the Delta Special Economic Zone to attract local and international investors.
The Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, disclosed this during a press briefing ahead of the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026, where he highlighted the state government’s commitment to creating a favourable business environment for sustainable economic growth.
Dr. Emu said the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has laid a strong foundation for industrialisation through continuous investments in critical infrastructure, including roads, bridges, power projects and transportation networks.
According to him, these strategic investments are aimed at improving connectivity, reducing business constraints and positioning Delta State as a competitive destination for investors seeking opportunities in Nigeria.
He noted that the state’s vast maritime resources, improved power infrastructure and abundant natural endowments provide significant advantages that can drive economic diversification and strengthen the state’s industrial base.
The SSG expressed optimism that the 2026 Economic and Investment Summit would attract strategic partnerships and investments capable of boosting industrial development, expanding export opportunities and creating more employment opportunities for residents of the state.
He added that the summit would serve as a platform to showcase Delta’s economic potentials and reinforce the state’s readiness to partner with investors for inclusive and sustainable growth.
