NDC Youth Wing Announces Nationwide PVC, Membership Awareness Rally
The National Youth Wing of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced plans to embark on a nationwide Permanent Voter Card (PVC), party logo, and membership registration awareness rally as part of efforts to mobilise young Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The week-long campaign, scheduled to hold from July 4 to July 10, 2026, is aimed at encouraging eligible Nigerians, particularly youths, to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, identify with the party, and participate actively in the democratic process.
According to a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary/Media Director of the NDC National Youth Wing, Godsent Oba, the initiative goes beyond a political rally, describing it as a nationwide PVC sensitisation campaign designed to promote greater youth participation in shaping Nigeria's future.
The statement said the programme is being coordinated under the leadership of the National Youth Coordinator, Hon. Ajodo Onuh, with the support of prominent party leaders, including Peter Obi, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, Senator Zuwoghe, Barrister Enekweizu, and members of the National Youth Wing Executive.
It noted that the campaign would be held simultaneously across the 36 states of the federation, with youths expected to mobilise support from campuses, communities, wards, and through various digital platforms.
The youth wing described young people as the driving force of the movement, saying they remain committed to grassroots mobilisation, civic engagement, and expanding the party's membership base through sustained awareness campaigns.
Reflecting on the recent legal challenges involving the party, the statement maintained that the court judgment had strengthened rather than weakened the resolve of the youth wing.
"The past court judgment did not break us; it built us. It tested our resolve, united our voices, and made the NDC Youth Wing stronger, wiser, and more organised. No intimidation can stop a generation that has found its voice," the statement said.
The NDC Youth Wing urged Nigerian youths to take advantage of the rally by obtaining their PVCs, participating in the electoral process, and contributing to efforts aimed at building a better Nigeria.
The statement reaffirmed the group's campaign message: "Your PVC, Your Power. Your Future, Our Nigeria."
