2027: Davies Unveils Bayelsa West Candidates, Urges Support For Competence Over Political Dynasty

The Founder of Rainbow Nation, Hon. Obubo Koripamo Davies, has formally presented a number of the movement's prospective candidates for the 2027 general elections, describing them as credible, experienced, and committed leaders whose records of service distinguish them from others.

Addressing supporters and residents of Bayelsa West, Davies said the candidates had earned the confidence of the people through character, dedication, and proven performance rather than political rhetoric or empty promises.
According to him, although the candidates are "not perfect," they possess the integrity, competence, and experience required to provide effective representation and responsive leadership.

"They do not claim to be saints or superhumans. What they are is credible, tested by time, and trusted by those who have worked with them. They are people-centred and driven by the real challenges our people face daily, including better roads, quality healthcare, functional schools, youth empowerment, security, and economic opportunities," he said.
Davies noted that the candidates have consistently demonstrated their commitment to grassroots development through interventions in education, skills acquisition, agriculture, and support for small businesses, adding that they remain accessible, transparent, and accountable to the people.

He stressed that public office should be regarded as a sacred trust and not an avenue for personal enrichment.
The Rainbow Nation founder also drew a distinction between his candidates and their political opponents, accusing some politicians of prioritising family pedigree and political connections over competence and good governance.

"We reject politics built on entitlement and political dynasties. In Bayelsa West, we choose competence, integrity, and genuine commitment to service over bloodlines and privileged connections," he declared.
Davies maintained that while the candidates may not be the loudest voices in the political space, they are among the most prepared and capable of delivering meaningful development from their first day in office.

Calling on the people of Bayelsa West to unite behind the candidates, he urged voters to embrace politics of inclusion, accountability, and service ahead of the 2027 elections.

"The choice before us in 2027 is clear. Let us rally behind these credible sons of Bayelsa West and build a constituency that works for everyone, not just a privileged few. Bayelsa West deserves better, and Bayelsa West deserves these candidates," he said.
He concluded by expressing optimism about the future of the constituency and prayed for continued peace, progress, and prosperity for Bayelsa West.
