UPDATE: Ebonyi Industrial City Takes Shape As Nwifuru Intensifies Economic Development Drive

Work is steadily progressing at the site of the proposed Ebonyi Industrial City located in Izhiangbo, as the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru continues to advance its industrialization agenda aimed at empowering Ebonyians and creating sustainable economic opportunities.

Providing an update on the development, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Documentation, Dr. Boniface Nwankwo, stated that the project reflects the intentional commitment of Governor Nwifuru, popularly known as FON, to reduce unemployment and create a productive environment that will take Ebonyi youths off the streets of major cities across Nigeria.

According to him, the industrial city is designed to serve as a hub for skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and industrial development. He explained that several workshop structures currently under construction will be used for intensive vocational and technical training programmes for residents.

Dr. Nwankwo further disclosed that beneficiaries who successfully acquire relevant skills through the training programmes would be allocated workshop spaces within the industrial city to enable them establish and grow their own businesses.

He added that individuals and investors with the financial capacity would also be allocated landed spaces within the city to establish industries and manufacturing outfits of their choice, thereby contributing to the economic transformation of the state.

The project is expected to boost employment opportunities, encourage local production, and position Ebonyi State as an emerging industrial destination in Nigeria.

“More can be achieved with FON on the saddle,” Dr. Nwankwo stated, while reaffirming the administration’s commitment to people-oriented development and economic empowerment.
