In Vain Do They Conspire Against Uzodimma — Onwuasoanya Defends Imo Governor

A political commentator and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, has declared that alleged political plots against the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, will ultimately fail, insisting that the governor remains divinely destined for greater national responsibilities.

In a strongly worded statement titled “Uzodimma: In Vain Do They Conspire,” Jones described the governor as a resilient political figure whose rise has consistently survived opposition, blackmail, and political scheming.

Drawing from personal reflections and lessons learnt from his late grandmother, Jones argued that intense opposition is often a sign that greater responsibilities lie ahead for leaders destined for prominence. According to him, many politicians fail because they underestimate what he described as “the God factor” in leadership and politics.

The APC chieftain said Governor Uzodimma’s political journey has never been easy, noting that the Imo governor has repeatedly had to struggle for positions and opportunities that eventually worked in his favour.

He further claimed that political opponents of the governor often make “costly strategic mistakes” in their attempts to undermine him, thereby unintentionally strengthening his political standing.

Jones maintained that Governor Uzodimma, who currently serves as Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, was fully prepared for the political battles surrounding him and had strategically positioned himself ahead of emerging challenges.

According to him, ongoing media attacks and political conspiracies against the governor are not merely targeted at Uzodimma personally, but are part of broader efforts aimed at weakening the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He described Uzodimma as one of the president’s “key men” in advancing the Renewed Hope agenda and consolidating the achievements of the current administration.

Jones also praised President Tinubu’s leadership, stating that the administration had made significant investments in securing Nigeria’s future and stabilising the country.

He concluded by expressing confidence that both President Tinubu and Governor Uzodimma would overcome political opposition, insisting that “those who conspire against them do so in vain.”
