Ebonyi APC Reaffirms Unity, Dismisses Rift Allegations — Nwifuru

The Ebonyi State Government has reaffirmed the unity and cohesion of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, following a series of engagement meetings with party stakeholders.

In a press statement issued on May 2, 2026, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, expressed profound appreciation to party leaders and stakeholders for their active participation and valuable contributions toward strengthening the party ahead of future political engagements.

Governor Nwifuru emphasized that the APC in Ebonyi remains “one indivisible family,” assuring that all aspirants seeking various elective positions within the party would be given equal treatment, in line with agreements reached during the consultations.

Addressing speculations of a rift within the party’s leadership, the governor categorically dismissed claims of any disagreement between him and his predecessor, David Nweze Umahi. He described such reports as baseless and the handiwork of individuals seeking to create division, stressing that both leaders are working collaboratively for the continued progress of the party and the state.

On the issue of consensus candidacy, the governor noted that any outstanding concerns would be resolved amicably through dialogue and mutual understanding. He also disclosed plans to engage directly with all aspirants as part of ongoing efforts to ensure inclusivity and fairness in the party’s internal processes.

Governor Nwifuru further called on stakeholders, aspirants, and party faithful to close ranks and make necessary sacrifices in the collective interest of the APC, underscoring the importance of unity in achieving sustained political success.
