Atiku Visits Amaechi In Abuja, Discusses Nigeria’s Challenges

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday paid a visit to former Governor of Rivers State and ex-Minister of Transportation, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, at his Abuja residence, where both leaders held discussions on the state of the nation and the challenges confronting Nigerians.

Atiku disclosed that their conversation centred on the worsening economic hardship, insecurity, and the urgent need for patriotic Nigerians to continue seeking solutions capable of steering the country away from what he described as “drift and despair.”
According to him, the meeting was marked by warmth, camaraderie, and frank exchanges on national issues affecting citizens across the country.

The former Vice President also used the opportunity to felicitate with Amaechi on the occasion of his birthday, which was celebrated a day earlier. In a lighthearted moment, Atiku joked about Arsenal’s recent historic triumph, noting that the victory could not have come at a better time for Amaechi, whom he described as a “thoroughly well-loaded Gunner.”
He said the former Rivers governor received the banter in good spirits.

Atiku further revealed that Amaechi apologised for not having enough time to prepare Fisherman Soup, a popular Rivers delicacy, while promising to make up for it during their next meeting.

The visit has continued to generate interest amid ongoing political conversations about the future of the country and the role of opposition leaders in addressing Nigeria’s current challenges.
