Meeting With President Tinubu: Renewed Hope Ambassadors Reaffirm commitment Ahead Of 2027

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday met with leaders and coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in what marked his first formal engagement with the group ahead of the 2027 general elections.

At the meeting held on April 16, the President charged the ambassadors to actively promote his administration’s vision while upholding democratic principles and respect for the rule of law.
Addressing the gathering, Tinubu described the ambassadors as representatives of a national aspiration to overcome poverty and build unity.

“You represent the conscience of a nation that wants to break the shackles of poverty and hopelessness,” he said. “We must embrace the judiciary, whether it favours us or not, and remain committed to democracy, separation of powers, and national cohesion.”
The President emphasised the need for a shared national vision, urging the ambassadors to propagate the ideals of progress and prosperity across the country.

The meeting was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, alongside several governors and senior figures of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda.

Among the governors present were Uba Sani, Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, Mai Mala Buni, Nasir Idris, Francis Nwifuru, Sheriff Oborevwori, Usman Ododo, Abiodun Oyebanji, Hyacinth Alia, Agbu Kefas and Monday Okpebholo.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma said the RHA structure had been fully activated nationwide, with grassroots mobilisation already underway.

He noted that coordinators had been inaugurated across local governments and wards, with data-driven engagement ongoing at polling unit level, targeting markets, schools, professional bodies, and faith-based organisations.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, who serves as Deputy Director-General of the RHA, stressed the need for intensified communication of the administration’s achievements.

“If we don’t tell our story, others will tell it their own way,” he said, adding that the President’s support for sub-national governments remained unprecedented.

Gombe State Governor Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, the RHA National Secretary, echoed the call for greater mobilisation, urging ambassadors to expand outreach nationwide.

Former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari described ongoing reforms as challenging but necessary, noting that transformative policies often face resistance at inception.

Also speaking, former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim alleged that the opposition was spreading misinformation but expressed confidence in the RHA’s strategy.

Former Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura said President Tinubu’s policies were well-conceived and aimed at national recovery.

In his remarks, former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa commended the administration’s economic reforms and highlighted the impact of the student loan initiative, noting that over one million students had benefitted as of March.

The meeting also featured contributions from other party leaders, including APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda and Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji.

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative is a key mobilisation platform of the Tinubu administration, aimed at consolidating grassroots support and communicating government policies ahead of the next electoral cycle.
