Like His Predecessors, Nwifuru’s Second Term Sacrosanct – Ebonyi APC

The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its strong support for the re-election bid of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru ahead of the 2027 governorship election, describing his second term as “sacrosanct” in line with the state’s political tradition.

The State Chairman of the APC, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, made this known on Monday while receiving members of the Ebonyi State Coordinators Forum and the Forum of Management Committee members at the party secretariat in Abakaliki.
Emegha said the party is fully prepared to collaborate with stakeholders across the state to ensure the governor’s smooth return for a second term, stressing that Nwifuru’s performance in office has earned him overwhelming support.

According to him, the governor has recorded notable achievements across key sectors of the state economy, while also promoting inclusiveness through the appointment of women and youths into strategic positions in government.
He added that the strength of the APC in the state remains intact, noting that “no amount of opposition can truncate the will of the people” given what he described as the governor’s “sterling performance.”

The visit by the coordinators and management committee members, who represent 63 Development Centres and 504 local structures across the state, also featured the presentation of a ₦50 million donation in support of the governor’s nomination and re-election bid.

Emegha commended the gesture, describing it as a strong expression of grassroots confidence in the governor’s leadership. He further assured the delegation that the party would continue to mobilise support across all structures to ensure victory in 2027.
“As a party, we are in agreement that Governor Nwifuru must return for a second term. It is a tradition in Ebonyi State for sitting governors to complete two terms, and his case will not be different,” he said.

He also charged grassroots leaders to take full charge of their various communities ahead of the elections, warning that the party would not accept any excuses after the polls.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Ebonyi Coordinators Forum, Hon. Chidi Ogbonna, and Chairman of the Management Committee Forum, Hon. Friday Nkwuda, said the governor had delivered unprecedented development across the state and deserved another term.

They cited projects such as road infrastructure, healthcare revitalisation, improved security, and the construction of duplexes for traditional rulers across autonomous communities.

“There is no community in Ebonyi State today without either ongoing or completed projects courtesy of the governor,” they stated.

Also speaking on behalf of the three senatorial zones, Hon. Chika Nwangele (Ebonyi South), Barr. Chika Igboke (Ebonyi Central), and Hon. Friday Oketa (Ebonyi North) pledged continued grassroots mobilisation to secure the governor’s victory at the polls.
