APC Announces Updated Guidelines, Fees For Imo Assembly Aspirants Ahead Of 2027 Elections
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State has released updated procedures for the purchase of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for aspirants seeking to contest the State House of Assembly seats in the 2027 general elections.
In a press statement issued on April 30, 2026, the State Publicity Secretary, Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, PhD, reminded interested aspirants to commence payment of the required fees in line with the party’s approved guidelines.
According to the statement, aspirants are to pay a non-refundable fee of ₦1,000,000 for the Expression of Interest Form and ₦5,000,000 for the Nomination Form. Payments may be made as a lump sum into any of the designated bank accounts provided by the party, including Union Bank Plc, United Bank for Africa (UBA), and Zenith Bank Plc.
The party further directed that all aspirants must present proof of payment at the APC State Secretariat located at No. 47 Okigwe Road, Owerri, to obtain the necessary forms.
The statement also urged aspirants to strictly adhere to the revised schedule of activities for the 2026 primaries, as approved by the party’s National Working Committee.
In a move aimed at promoting inclusivity, the APC disclosed that women, youths, and persons living with disabilities—referred to as “special citizens”—will benefit from a concession. While they are required to pay the full fee for the Expression of Interest Form, they will only pay 50 percent of the Nomination Form fee.
The party reiterated its commitment to encouraging broader participation among underrepresented groups, emphasizing that the measure aligns with its inclusive political agenda.
The APC concluded the statement with its slogan, “APC… Progress!” signaling its readiness for the upcoming electoral process.
