Warri South 2027: Merogun Empowers Residents, Inaugurates Campaign Council
Dr. Michael Merogun, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Delta State House of Assembly, Warri South Constituency 1, has held an empowerment programme for residents alongside the inauguration of his campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event, held at Blossom Hall, Ugbuwangue, Warri, attracted men, women and youths from different wards and communities across the constituency.
The empowerment programme featured business support, cash grants and other packages aimed at supporting small-scale businesses and assisting beneficiaries in meeting their economic needs.
The initiative formed part of Merogun's engagement with residents as he pursues his ambition to represent Warri South Constituency 1 in the Delta State House of Assembly.
The event also featured the inauguration of his campaign council, comprising elders, women leaders, youth representatives and political stakeholders drawn from various communities across the constituency.
The council is expected to coordinate grassroots mobilisation and communicate Merogun's campaign message to residents ahead of the 2027 elections, with emphasis on his "Let's Light Up Warri South" vision.
Speaking at the gathering, some community leaders expressed support for Merogun's ambition, describing the empowerment initiative as a welcome intervention for residents and small-scale business owners. They also expressed hope that his proposed representation would address concerns affecting the constituency.
In his remarks, Merogun thanked those who attended the event and reiterated his commitment to promoting economic opportunities, supporting young people and women, and providing effective representation for Warri South Constituency 1.
He described the empowerment programme as the beginning of his efforts to support residents, adding that his vision was to improve livelihoods and ensure that the constituency's concerns receive adequate attention at the state legislature.
The twin events marked another phase of Merogun's political engagement with residents as political activities gradually build towards the 2027 general elections.
